Feel more in control
whatever life throws your way

Hi, I’m Caroline,

I support children and adults to understand their feelings, build coping strategies, and face life’s challenges with more confidence.

I support parents to better understand their children’s behaviour and emotions, strengthen connections, and create a calmer family life.

Together, we can make sense of what feels overwhelming and discover new ways of coping.

About me

My approach is grounded in the belief that real change begins when we notice the early signs that our body and mind are shifting out of balance - before we become overwhelmed. From there, it’s possible to tune into these signals and find practical ways to return to a steadier, calmer state.

This is the work of nervous system regulation — also known as emotion regulation - which we work on together in sessions.

I provide a secure, nurturing space to safely explore thoughts, feelings, and life’s challenges. Together, we can focus on building self-awareness, finding new ways of coping, and creating meaningful change.

My background in infant and child development gives me a deep understanding of how early experiences shape our emotional patterns throughout life. I blend talking therapy with body-awareness and relationship-focused work, drawing on current neuroscience.

I believe you are the expert on you. I’m here to support you with compassion and respect so you can begin to shift unhelpful patterns and find new ways to relate to yourself and others.

Getting to Know Your Nervous System (and why it matters for your wellbeing)

We learn about the solar system at school, but rarely about our nervous system, which plays a huge role in how we cope with stress and emotions every day.

Your ‘window of tolerance’ is the range in which you can handle life’s challenges without feeling overwhelmed or shutting down. When you’re inside it, you can think clearly, stay grounded and respond in ways that feel balanced.

This window is shaped by our early experiences — but it can also change throughout life. The good news? It can be widened.

In therapy, we explore how your nervous system works, how to spot when you’re moving outside your window, and how to find your way back to feeling safe, steady and in control.

Diagram explaining the ‘Window of Tolerance.’ The middle green zone, ‘In Your Window,’ includes states like regulated nervous system, present, authentic, empathic, self-aware, and feeling safe. The upper red zone, ‘Above Your Window,’ shows hyperarousal states like anxious, scared, angry, frantic, threatened, or in fight-or-flight. The lower blue zone, ‘Below Your Window,’ shows hypoarousal states like checked out, disengaged, demoralized, numb, frozen, or shut down.

About therapy

A sunlit path through trees, with bright light shining at the end.

Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to bring about meaningful and lasting change.

It offers a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings, make sense of your experiences, and develop new ways of approaching life’s challenges.

It can be an empowering and transformative process — but it isn’t always easy. At times, therapy may involve facing painful memories or uncomfortable emotions. Some patterns have been in place for many years, and shifting them takes time, curiosity and patience.

It’s also normal to have mixed feelings about therapy. Talking openly about these can help us build a trusting, honest relationship, which is at the heart of all effective therapy.

While the journey can be challenging, it can also lead to deep personal growth, greater self-understanding, and a more fulfilling life.

My work with children, teens, and parents

I offer a safe, empathic space where children and young people can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences through play, art, movement and conversation – whatever feels natural for their age and needs.

Together, we build their ability to notice what their body is telling them, understand how their brain handles big emotions, and develop practical tools to manage overwhelming feelings with more choice and less reactivity.

Where appropriate, I also work with parents to support your child or young person in the best possible way. For older teens, this is always done with their consent and respect for their privacy.

When working with parents, we explore ways to strengthen connection with your child, support their emotional regulation, and create a calmer family life. This might include practical strategies for managing difficult moments, working through parenting guilt or overwhelm, and finding better ways to care for yourself alongside supporting your child.

In some cases, meaningful change can be achieved by working solely with parents, without direct work with the child.

My work with adults

Set of traditional Russian nesting dolls painted with floral designs and faces, arranged in rows from largest to smallest.

I support adults in exploring how early life experiences shape their emotional patterns and current relationships.

Together, we build awareness of your body's signals and learn to recognise when stress is building. Many patterns that feel automatic today actually began as helpful survival strategies—we can gently shift from avoidance toward deeper self-understanding.

This work encourages developing healthier relationships and coping strategies that build lasting emotional resilience. You'll learn practical tools to manage overwhelming feelings with more choice and less reactivity, creating a greater sense of balance and control.

Helpful to know

Confidentiality

What is shared in therapy is treated with care and kept strictly confidential. The only exception is if there are serious concerns about a client’s safety or the safety of others. In such cases, I may need to share information with other professionals to ensure the right support is in place -and wherever possible, I will discuss this with you first.

When working with children or adolescents, I balance their right to confidentiality with the need to keep parents informed in a way that supports the therapy.

To maintain safe and ethical practice, I also receive regular clinical supervision. These discussions are fully anonymised and kept confidential.

Fees

Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and are usually scheduled weekly, ideally at the same time and day each week.

My fee is £90 per session. I also offer a limited number of reduced-fee places for those who are unemployed or facing genuine financial difficulties

Lateness and Cancellation Policy

To help keep appointments available and to comply with room hire requirements, I require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. If you’re unable to give this notice, the full session fee will apply.

If I am delayed, I will make up the lost time or arrange a reimbursement, whichever suits you best. If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time, and the full fee will be due.

In the rare event that I need to cancel a session, I’ll always aim to offer an alternative appointment where possible.
